The collaboration was sparked a few weeks ago when Neil and Sarah visited Tertio’s stand at the Workspace Show in Paris. What stood out? A powerful visual story of transformation — a once-broken, neglected office chair brought back to life through expert reconditioning. It was a striking reminder of what’s possible when innovation meets sustainability.
In the European Union, approximately 10.78 million tonnes of furniture are discarded annually, with about 1.9 million tonnes originating from the business sector, including office furniture. Alarmingly, 80-90% of this discarded furniture is either incinerated or sent to landfill, with only around 10% being recycled.
At Encore, we believe in challenging the status quo — and that includes rethinking how we source, use, and reuse office furniture. Together with Re-You and Tertio, we’re working toward a shared mission: to drastically reduce the negative impact our industry has on the planet.
This partnership marks an exciting step forward. By combining our expertise and passion, we’re accelerating the shift towards a truly circular economy — where nothing goes to waste, and everything has potential for a second life.
